Per our agreement with the City of Sioux Center to place the wreaths outside of the regular season, wreaths are to be retired from the cemetery 3 weeks following the ceremony and wreath laying. We invite anyone that would like to keep these wreaths to remove them before Saturday, January 3, 2026 but to wait until after the New Year. We will also need volunteers to assist with the retirement on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 9:00 AM.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA – IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to the predicted frigid temperatures and the possibility of additional snow Friday night into Saturday morning, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s ceremony.

To ensure wreaths are still placed to honor our heroes, wreath laying has been moved up to Friday, December 12, from 11 AM to 3 PM. Volunteers are greatly appreciated.

If you have a specific grave request, Elaine Leusink will be reaching out to confirm whether you plan to place your wreath personally or would prefer a volunteer to place it on your behalf.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we prioritize safety while continuing our mission to Remember, Honor, Teach.

Come and go as you are able! We are getting ahead of the cold and predicted snow and will lay all 460+ wreaths on Friday between 11 AM and 3 PM. Volunteer as long as you are able to. If you have a grave specific request, you will be contact by Elaine Leusink to verify if you are able to come and place or would prefer volunteers to do so.

We’re teaming up with Culver’s Sioux Center for a SHARE DAY on Tuesday, November 4! That means a portion of the day’s sales will go toward supporting additional Remembrance Wreaths to be placed this holiday season in the Sioux Center area.

The 10th annual National Wreaths Across America Day Ceremony in Sioux Center will be taking place on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Kinsey Elementary in Sioux Center.
